* Waste such as asbestos has special fees. Asbestos is accepted on the first Wednesday of every month at $80 per ton. Please contact Samantha Wills, Landfill Customer Service & Scale Attendant at wills.samantha@danecounty.gov with any questions or concerns.
** Tires are charged by weight (not flat fee) and are accepted at $0.17/lb or $340/ton. One (1) standard tire costs about $4-6 to recycle.
*** Food scraps are free to drop off at the landfill facility for all Dane County residents, for details see our compost webapge. Commercial haulers with food scraps must scale in at the landfill and drop off at the Purple Cow Organics Meier Rd facility, prior approval from the compost program coordinator is needed for all new food scrap haulers. Contact the program coordinator at gobster.delaney@danecounty.gov or 608.206.6952 before arrival at the landfill scale.
