* Waste such as asbestos has special fees. Asbestos is accepted on the first Wednesday of every month at $82.10 per ton. Please contact us at waste.renewables@danecounty.gov with any questions or concerns.
** Tires are charged by weight (not flat fee) and are accepted at $0.175/lb or $350/ton. One (1) standard tire costs about $4-6 to recycle.
*** Food scraps are free to drop off at the landfill facility for all Dane County residents, for details see our compost webapge. Commercial haulers with food scraps must scale in at the landfill and drop off at the Purple Cow Organics Meier Rd facility. Prior approval is needed for all new food scrap haulers. Contact waste.renewables@danecounty.gov for more information.

*We reserve the right to impose additional fees for large quantities of materials or loads from multiple households. Ag-related waste from farms subsidized 100%.
**Businesses and farms must schedule an appointment prior to drop-off. Customers with large loads also encouraged to set up an appointment.
