Recycling at the Dane County Landfill

The Dane County Landfill provides recycling services for select materials that are dropped off at the site. Current recycling programs include:  

• Tire recycling (rims must be off).
• Clean shingles (only asphalt shingles, nails, & tar paper).
• Bicycle Exchange Program. Dropping off a bike entails a small fee, but picking one up is free. 
• Electronics recycling (drop off at Clean Sweep).
• Clean Sweep Product Exchange Program.
• Brush & Log Drop-Off for clean logs, branches and wood chips. These are made into wood chips for landscaping, animal bedding and other uses. 
• Food scraps and yard waste drop-off for composting with Purple Cow Organics.

Residential recycling and curbside pickup services are provided to you by your local municipality. However, no matter what material you have to get rid of, we want to help you find the right place for it.
