We are providing a friendly reminder that the Dane County Landfill, Clean Sweep, and Construction & Demolition Recycling Facility will be closed Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We will re-open Tuesday, January 20th for normal hours of 6:30am – 3:15pm.

We are committed to doing everything possible to minimize odors, and your feedback is a critical part of this work. We thank you for taking the time to report any odor issues you may be experiencing.
Every odor report is taken seriously. When a report is submitted, the Dane County Waste + Renewables team conducts a review to identify the likely source. This process may include checking wind direction, speed, and temperature; reviewing active landfill operations; and sending staff offsite to assess conditions.
Sometimes this evidence suggests the landfill is not the source and we will attempt to follow up with you for more information to see if we can still assist. If the landfill is determined to be the potential source, our team will take corrective measures onsite, with the goal of resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
