Landfill Prairie Seed Collection

Our prairie was established in 2017 as part of Dane County Waste + Renewables' mission to return the space to habitat for bird and insects - and eventually create publicly-accessible park space. For the first time, we're inviting the public to visit the prairie and harvest seeds on behalf of Dane County Parks for future planting events at prairies around the county! Fall is a beautiful time to get outdoors in southern Wisconsin and this event offers a unique opportunity to view and interact with the Dane County Landfill prairie ecosystem!
